Do as the Czechs Do

One of the first things you learn when using Prague’s metro system is how to handle yourself whilst on an escalator or climbing stairs.

Rule Number 1: Stay on the right if you’re going a normal speed (or standing still if on an escalator). Treat the left side as a passing lane, only using it if you plan to walk extra-speedily towards your destination.

Rule Number 2: Get out of the left lane, slowpoke! You deserve a bit of a dirty look if you’re not obeying this rule!

*I’m proud to say I followed these rules better than many locals.  Go me!

If only highway drivers in New York would obey this as well. Kudos to drivers out in the country who know this important concept. 🙂
