Pope Benedict XVI’s Prayer Intentions – August 2010

According to the Vatican Information Service’s blog, here are Pope Benedict XVI’s Prayer Intentions for this month:

That those who are without work or homes or who are otherwise in serious need may find understanding and welcome, as well as concrete help in overcoming their difficulties.

His mission intention for the month is:

That the Church may be a ‘home’ for all people, ready to open her doors to any who are suffering from racial or religious discrimination, hunger or wars forcing them to emigrate to other countries.

I have a particular prayer request, so please spread the word:

There is a homeless man, P, that is well-known and well-liked at the winter homeless shelter in my town.  He’s very kind and gentle and works very hard here on LI so that he can send money home to his faraway family.  I found out last night that he’s in the hospital with a serious infection, possibly gangrene.  So, please pray for him and ask others to pray as well.  Also, please pray for him to have hope, for the medical personnel, for the shelter helpers that will be reaching out to him, and of course for his faraway family.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.  Blessed art thou among women, and Blessed is the Fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  St. Jude, pray for us.  St. Gianna, pray for us.
